The world of internet knows no limits, giving really out of the blue ideas to individuals about Travel websites, Real Estate / property websites, shopping sites, online retail multivendor websites, online retail marketplaces and portals such as Airbnb, Twitch.tv, Vimeo, Etsy, eBay, FlipKart, SnapDeal, Yelp, Groupon, Fiverr.com, ZocDoc, GrubHub, Taskrabbit.com, AppMeSolutions.com, FoodPanda, Glintinc.com, UrbanSpoon, Sony.com, Dogbnb.com, MyDogBuddy.co.uk, Nuvango.

So now you have the idea about building a website, your new startup. But you don’t know how to code? You don’t know how and from where to hire a great programmer? You also don’t know what is the process of building a website? Your start-up is likely to hit these hurdles undoubtedly. But the help is just a click away…

Being an ISO 9001:2008 & CRISIL certified company; Hi-Tech ITO’s PHP Application Development Services are built on result oriented processes derived out of domain expertise and experience for any of our web development projects. We are one of the best web design firm in India and have successfully developed and coded sites for some of the biggest start-ups.
Picture
Process
  • We ask for more details and talk a lot about the project to gather maximum information on the preferred functionalities. Then we explain the concept of Most Valuable Player (MVP) to assess what will work and then build a website around it.
  • Next that comes in, is the cost of building a scalable website; that includes:

    • Ecosystem of partners/contributors
    • Costs of running it
    • Integrations
    • Maintenance
    • Debugging
    • UX fixes – Customer service, Compliance & Marketing costs, not included
  • This is then followed with:

    • Startup consulting for free
    • Our hourly web development rates
    • 3 month period for a team of 2-3 developers to launch an MVP
    • Competitive advantages – product wise
    • Point of difference / point of parity marketing-wise
Upon realizing these facts, I think it becomes much easier for anyone and everyone to understand why it is so tough to tell “How much will it cost to build a website?”. It’s not the cost of building a web site that you need – it’s a product strategy that you should be looking at.

Let us help you decide the product strategy, and then you focus on your core competencies while we prepare the best website for your business.

Why should I pay to set up a website; there are “Build your Website for Free” options available?

9/25/2015

While surfing the internet, you would encounter advertisements that claim you can “build your website for free”.

Irrespective of whether it is a Travel website, Real Estate / property website, shopping site, online retail multivendor website, online retail marketplace or portals such as FlipKart, Etsy, eBay, SnapDeal, Yelp, Groupon, Twitch.tv, Fiverr.com, ZocDoc, GrubHub, Taskrabbit.com, AppMeSolutions.com, FoodPanda, Glintinc.com, UrbanSpoon, Sony.com, Dogbnb.com, MyDogBuddy.co.uk, Nuvango – they claim that you can build it on your own for free.

This, I would say, might give you “your web presence” and “not your website”. It is something that will create its place on your business cards to point it to your clients, but does it really help you in getting new clients and securing the ones that you already have frankly speaking “NO”.

A lot of tools are available online, which allow you to build your website – for free. But they are dependent on plugins or generic modules to create/make your page. These generic and multi-purpose blocks are an indication that there are a lot of dismissed codes in your app that can considerably slow down your website or make it unstable. However you website or your online business needs custom design features that can be implemented only by building the site from scratch.
Picture
Your new startup is very close to you heart, I suppose. So, if you are really serious about your new business, you will be the last person to want your website to look generic – alike other sites designed and developed by the same “build your website for free” tool. You would want your website to perform specific tasks which the free tool does not allow or does not integrate with your website – elegantly. There are chances that you might get tired of performance issues and frequent crashes of your website designed for free.

Some more disadvantages to a free website:
  • You don’t own the website, which means the service provider has the control on what you can and cannot do with your website. In worst scenario the service provider can even delete your site.
  • Limitations, as you don’t own the site, become a regular occurrence. If you are looking to add up a new feature – you cannot as your free website service provider does not support that particular feature.
  • SEO benefits are something that you will have to let go. For instance if your free website service provider is penalized by Google and pushed down the ranks. This certainly will affect your site and your business as well.
Now, here your so called website made through “build your own website for free option” may not give you the one, which is equipped to make its mark on the internet search through its tasteful graphics and high appeal. So trust me it is “bad Marketing” and “bad use of budgets as well as time”. It’s a wrong thing to do with your new business and its website.

Then, what’s the right thing to do?
  • If your website is designed at Hi-Tech ITO, you will get a custom built website at a small fee, but you are able to control each and every aspect of the website.
  • We will design the website you want us to, adding all the features you suggest and make them interact positively with your users.
  • You also get a website equipped with highly scalable designs, thriving graphics & layouts with features such as quick loading, and will be user friendly irrespective of user’s skills or their internet speed.
  • Google+, Quora and many more are examples of sites developed from scratch.
  • Websites designed from scratch are coded to enable them to dynamically update – themselves.
  • Your website communicates to the server to return queries, maintain user database, enable users to interact internally and a lot more.
This certainly will help you fetch better results for a fraction of the cost. Now this is called good marketing and an excellent start for your business.

So I think I have made myself very clear that this article is only for those who are interested in having a website that is capable of marketing your business the way it desires and deserves.

Your business deserves:
  • A website that not only looks apart from competitors, but also is search engine friendly to generate customers for your business
  • A website that reflects your business and articulates your goals and your brand
  • A website that is compatible with every type of web browsers and on various operating systems.
We try to reach out to the root of what is involved and what is expected. This is one of the reasons why our web designers and developers have a lot of queries and questions before they offer you the final quote – at Hi-Tech ITO we do.

We will prepare the best website for your business while you focus on your core competencies.

However; quickly answering “How much does it cost to build a new website?” is really tricky. Here, we are not trying to get away from giving a simplified answer, because often a lot of our readers think – we are.
Picture
I also would like to tell everyone that it is high time we stop treating web design as a “product” and not a “design service”. The concept is totally wrong when you think that you can walk in any of those virtual stores and order a 2, 5 or 10 page website for a lump sum or pre decided amount.

However; designing and developing the website for your business is a process in which our team works with you hand in hand on things more than you even can think of – including:

  • Consulting – lot of you rarely know which solution fits your business, the best
  • Graphic Design
  • Content Creation – Web pages, Articles, Blogs and much more
  • User Experience Testing – UET
  • User Acceptance Testing – UAE
  • Search Engine Optimization – SEO
  • Content Management System – Setup and Configuration
  • Google Analytics Setup
  • Project Management and Updates
  • Phone Calls and Emails
  • Social Media Management
  • Editing
  • Training
22 years’ experience of Hi-Tech ITO is “priceless” when it comes to paying the cost to build a new website for your business. It is the key to our successful existence today.

How will you evaluate the dollar value to our efforts, innovations & synergies we incorporate while delivering comprehensive web design & development solutions including Design, Backend Technology, Payment Gateways, Front End Implementations and a lot more?

We provide next generation staffing needs & profitability at competitive prices through:

  • Microsoft .NET Application Development
  • Web Designing
  • E-commerce Portal Development
  • Content Management Solutions
  • Custom Application Developments
So ideally, instead of looking at 30 man days or 100 man days or our hourly billing rate as one of the best offshore IT company; you should go ahead & hire top Web Designers, hire Project Managers, hire Business Analysts, hire Technical Developers from us and enjoy the benefits of flexible Website Design & Development Solutions that we provide.

9/21/2015

Almost every day, at Hi-Tech ITO, we are flooded with requests asking for quotes to replicate some of the leading, popular and successful websites across domains and industries. Disconnect here is that no specs or details are mentioned in the request – just a two sentence email asking “How much does it cost to make a clone?”

If I have to club the requests it would be something like “How much will it cost to build a website like, Etsy, eBay, FlipKart, SnapDeal, Airbnb, Twitch.tv, Vimeo, Fiverr.com, ZocDoc, GrubHub, Taskrabbit.com, AppMeSolutions.com, FoodPanda, Glintinc.com, Yelp, Groupon, UrbanSpoon, Sony.com, Dogbnb.com, MyDogBuddy.co.uk, Nuvango, Travel website, Real Estate / property websites, shopping sites, online retail multivendor websites, online retail marketplace,

I will ask one of the common questions “so how much will it cost to create a new website?” if I was to get a new website – for my new venture or start up. Though we are the best offshore software development company providing Custom Website Design & Development Services from India, it’s a very tricky question to answer, precisely – trust me.

In order to address these frequently asked questions, I have put together answers to a lot of questions related to the cost of building a new website; which I am sure would help:

  • How much does it cost to build a new website or how much will it cost to make a website?
  • Why should I pay to set up a website; there options available to build your own website for free?
  • I have the idea but I don’t know coding, how to hire a great programmer & how to build a website?
  • What are the various aspects involved in building a website?

How much does it cost to build a website like Airbnb?

9/10/2015

Airbnb are the pioneers to the trend of sharing economy and have their presence across 34,000 cities and 190 countries. A trusted community marketplace with multiple functionalities, where one can list, discover, and book accommodations, online or through a smart phone or tablet. It works as one of the most convenient options to monetize their extra space and showcase it to an audience of millions.
Picture
A website like Airbnb; is just a part of the product, if you desire to offer services. The key element is the inventory of pictures, descriptions, providing customer support and much more. It would be one of those big portals with Omni functionalities which certainly would need a team of skilled thought leaders, developers and designers.

Cost of designing and developing a state of the art website like Airbnb, will certainly attract expenses of coding + designing + user acquisition. And trust me this certainly will range in millions if not a billion.

Website design and development companies have mushroomed and so you are likely to receive quotes varying from $3 per hour from a company based out of a tier 3 country and $150 per hour from a company based out of a tier 1 country. However; you are a professional who understands that website design and development process revolves around price, which is a variable largely affected by various factors.

Website Development Costs Vary Depending on:

Geographic Location of Project Execution
  • In-House: In-house Development Team $120 – $150 per hour
  • Outsourcing:
    • Near-Shoring $70 – $100 per hour
    • Offshore Development $30 – $50 per hour
Kind of Website Development

Ready to deploy solutions available in the market pose great challenges when it comes to flexibility. This compels you to develop a custom website solution from scratch. You are already inspired by the idea of Airbnb – why do you want to use a ready to deploy solution? Instead get yourself build a custom solution, where you can add up your own flavors and elements.

We at CrispyCodes provide Website Design and Development solutions that encompass stages of Design, Backend Technology, Payment Gateways, Front End Implementations and many more.

Technology Stack

I am of the opinion that instead of thinking about the cost of building a website like Airbnb as a first step, one should think of selecting the appropriate Technology stack in the initial stage. This aspect is capable of turning the table of your budget, scalability and development time.

CrispyCodes provides flexible solutions for next generation staffing needs & profitability through Microsoft .NET Application Development, Web Designing, E-commerce Portal Development, Content Management Systems (CMS) & Custom Application Developments, at competitive prices.

Website Design and Development Team

Develop your website in house or you can outsource it; but mind well, the ideas and technical competencies of a development team plays a vital role which certainly will reflect in the architecture to the UI.

Crispy Code’s 22 years’ of experience is “priceless”, but we know that it only gets better if shared and utilized. So what you pay as cost-to-build-a-website like Airbnb, is for the value addition that we provide in form of highly scalable designs, thriving graphics & layouts with features such as quick loading and user friendly navigation.

Content and Curation

What kind of content you populate on your site and how do you curate it, is the next most important thing on your task list. On acquiring the Content – developing a CMS based website is not that tough – where coding covers only a small portion of the execution. But do you have a team competent enough to manage these activities appropriately?

Airbnb is approaching the mark of one million guests per night, which also means that more than 800,000 people will stay in an Airbnb on any given night this summer. Airbnb has gained popularity due to its user acquisition strategy – a masterpiece in itself.

It will be unfair to evaluate the dollar value in form of 30 man days or 100 man days – the efforts, innovations & synergies that we have developed for delivering web design & development solutions.

Why Responsive Web Designs are Mandatory In 2015?

8/17/2015

We all are aware that smartphones and tablets have invaded the web surfing – big time – and there are no chances of it getting back to a condition of previous days. Official figures suggest that internet usage through mobile devices say a dynamic increase as compared to usage through PCs. This should already ring a bell to all you out there – that this is a reason enough to have a Responsive Web Design in 2015. A website that is responsive – mobile friendly – multiple device compatible, is the only savior to accommodate this new digital landscape. Considering this demand, responsive websites are becoming the new standard of survival and status of web design and development.
Picture
Your Site has to be Much more than just a Mobile Site
Fluid, proportion-based grids, flexible images, and CSS3 media queries; these are a few of the components actively used for responsive web designing and development – all these to provide that optimized user experience across all the devices. Responsive web designs have prominent benefits to most of the businesses – far more than having a mobile site. The design empowers your entire website to completely adjust to all the devices – making the complete content available – along with a code that flawlessly accommodates several screen sizes and resolutions. Unlike a mobile site – these responsive websites offer a complete – information rich web experience, the one that consumers from today’s generation expect from their product or service provider.

Expectation Setting for Viewers
Scenario where there is bare minimum information on your website – in the past – then it was fine. However; the times have changed and so have the mentality of the users and business owners. Now business owners believe that the users have grown demanding and hence a mobile website is supposed to be at par with the desktop website, and if in case they are better than the desktop sites – nothing like that. It clearly means that your users are expecting the full fledge experience of your desktop website on their hand held device or smartphones, which includes easy navigation, access to tolls such as search bar and shopping cart, empowerment to perform activities such as making purchases or submitting forms and so on.

Designers and developers working for businesses should not forget that a visitor on your website will view your site on multiple platforms, first on the desktop in his/her office, then on their smart phone during lunch break or tea time and then on their tablets at home – and believe me - they would find it really frustrating when your website appears and responds differently every time they visit your site. This is where a responsive website pitches in, making it easy for your customer to find – understand and share your content – creating an overall better User experience, that also enhances your brand image.
Reduced Loading Time and Bounce Rates
Bounce rate a stage where; BECAUSE your website is not working properly on the mobile devices of the users and they leave your page after just a few clicks – upon detecting high bounce rates GOOGLE is going to give your site a lower quality score and so rank it lower which will decrease your site traffic – and trust me that is not at all good for your brand image. A responsive design is at your disposal to reduce this bounce rate as the view your site adjusts to various devices and that too consistently. At the same time responsive sites refrain from using queries to redirect users to another URL – like a mobile only site does. This certainly reduces the load time on a page – increasing Google’s and user’s trust in your site and brand – increasing the search rankings.
Its Google’s verdict
In the recent past GOOGLE has been actively making changes in terms of favoring mobile friendly websites overall. November, 2014 – it integrated mobile friendly labels as part of search result descriptions to help users know that those particular sites were mobile friendly. Year 2015 - starting 21st April, GOOGLE will be using mobile friendliness as one of the important factors to rank your website. Though mobile only sites and responsive sites – both are likely to pass these tests – google openly recommends using responsive web designs versus a mobile only site. It also recommends webmasters to follow industry best practices when it comes to web design; including serving the same HTML for all devices and using media queries to decide rendering on each device. Moment of truth for marketers as media queries have been the back bone for them as it allows websites to adapt to various screen sizes.

Google thinks responsive web designs should be industry best practice and that is due to obvious reasons. Google ranking process includes one of the factor Site ranking and we all know that more traffic means more credibility. A separate mobile version and a desktop version of your website would result into split traffic resulting in split credibility and ranking as well. Google is likely to consider and rank your website as two different identities as practically it is looking at two different sites. This also means that you will have a single – core domain – single set of pages and files - making life easier for google to crawl and index your content. Responsive websites also help you with organic search rankings – and hence ideal for search engine optimization (SEO).

Convenient Tracking
You have several versions of your site and so who is going to have all the trouble? They are the marketers who will face challenges in evaluating your site’s statistics and making informed decisions. But in case you have a simple – single – responsive website, gives you the options and convenience to track visitors and traffic purely based on the clicks received, as it will not be divided in a number of website versions. It helps you gain that accurate representations of goal conversions – count of visits – source of visits and much more.

Efficiently Cost Effective
Just try and get in the market to get yourself a responsive website designed and simultaneously you may also inquire about designing and developing two different sites one for the desktop and one for the mobile users. I tell you – responsive website design is going to cost you more. However; if you are a wise businessmen – you would focus on long term goals and not short term gains. Though building a responsive website means separate design templates for each device and browser – there is only a single set of files and a single set of content. It directly implies that the future content updates are possible at one single place, bringing down the maintenance cost – time consumed – version control issues and all these; while you reap all the aforementioned benefits of a responsive web design.

Flexibility Features Work to your Advantage
One of the reasons why responsive designs are gaining popularity is due to its forward thinking strategy the flexibility to adapt to forthcoming devices – which is not the case in mobile only sites. A responsive web design is as future proof as it can be, even with the introduction of new and advanced devices.
CMS Compatibility
Be smart enough to check out whether your content management system (CMS), the one that you are using or the proposed one, supports and is compatible with the responsive design. A variety of CMS platforms including Sitefinity, Kentico, Sitecore, etc., cater responsive designs through their built-in features. One more step towards cost effective responsive site development – that also empowers you with future template development while the site is adaptable to work seamlessly across devices.

Responsive Sites – The Must-Have Technology
Increasing use of smartphones and tablets implies businesses to have websites that not only are mobile friendly but also are consistent and user friendly across devices. Responsive websites help you offer and prove better user experience to all your customers – saves a lot of time and money in a long run – while it also provides a competitive advantage over businesses that are yet to invest in this user friendly and convenient technology called Responsive Web Design.

Design a Website with these 3, Common but Effective Tips

8/12/2015

Businesses and organizations have started allocating budgets especially for web design and development tasks. Expectations here, from developers and designers is to come up with exclusive and explicit results in form of ultimate traffic and potential customers. Designers and developers are supposed to make efforts to include the finest themes – color combinations – sliders – banners and many more. However; we have here top three features that they need to refer:
Picture
Unambiguous About Products and Services Offered:
Being a business owner you should be well aware of the needs – requirements and expectations of your customers or the targeted audience. Ensure that your designer or developer includes the direct links for these specific functions. In the process of web development, enhanced focus on main module is always beneficial. Purpose of a website, especially from client side has to be clear, is to apply creativity to seize attention of more and more targeted business pages. A link that takes the users to a page that they are expecting from your website must be conveniently accessible. One more thing to keep in mind is that visitors feel good and find you reliable if they get what they want or are expecting with bare minimum clicks – as they feel as a service or product provider you know what your customers need.
Thorough and Clear Answer to Queries and Questions Raised by Visitors:
Your visitors, your prospect customers are the ones who could have a laundry list of queries and questions. They are the ones who would not want to interact with you over telephone – and instead would expect online answer to their questions. Also as a proactive measure – ensure you are answering their questions or queries, you think may rise, in the content pages that you are putting on your website.  This in turn will reduce the workload on the support teams as impatient website visitors will get clarification to their doubts – instantaneously. You too would agree to the fact that websites that adhere to appropriate and adequate technology updates supposedly leave a good and long lasting impression to their visitors. It builds a brand image for that particular domain as well.
User Interface and User Experience that is Mobile Friendly:
Mandatory requirement for all business websites nowadays, as a matter of fact any website, is to be responsive – mobile friendly has to be the biggest and prime concern for business owners and website developers. Now that even GOOGLE has made it clear and mandatory for all the websites to be mobile responsive – it becomes more than important than ever. Very common fact remains that the count of people who search for local business on web through their mobiles is increasing undoubtedly. They are more interested in knowing the brand before actually using the service or product and even before they visit that particular location. Designers with experience in creating mobile friendly sites will have added advantage. People who are thinking of redesigning their existing websites – with high domain authority also need to think on these lines to create or convert their website to a mobile and user friendly website – as that is the future of websites for businesses across.

Web Design & Development a Tricky Thing to Handle – Really?

8/4/2015

Web Design & Development service providers follow a simple mantra “Create, Deliver and Manage, personalized online experiences – to your clients and in turn their clients as well.” The efforts are made in a single direction through a unified and integrated web content management system to provide immersive digital content across channels including web, mobile, and on-site screens.
Picture
A web Design & Development project is bound to be a bumpy ride! – No, I am not trying to freak you out; but yes, many times it happens that the plan that looks amazing and foolproof on paper may not work out precisely as anticipated. In worst-case scenarios when a web design & development is shelved up in the mid-way, such abruptly abandoned projects are heavy – not only on your pocket; but also for the valuable man-hours you put in.

Let us begin with some of the pitfalls that make Web Design & Development a tricky thing to handle:

Less Focused Approach on Features and Functions – Lack of focused approach is the major cause of the glitches and hurdles that comes. Most of the time, development teams fail to recognize their larger business goals; subsequently failing to appeal the customers with new and other end-to-end technologies which comes with CMS integration.

Clash between Business and IT – Such conflicts surfaces mostly when business folks cannot get a hold of technical issues, and the technical people cannot understand issues like branding or content authoring.

Too Many Managers for a Single Project– As it is said too many cooks, spoils the food – When there are a number of managers for a single project; the result is lack of a clear vision, quick decision-making and consequently making the project a flop show.

After pondering over the basic ‘pimple points’ that make it a difficult task; Let us see how you can apply some the lessons (learnt by the constant failures) to make sure Web Design & Development is deployed without any issues:

Keep all Key Stakeholders in the Loop

An organization with a cross-functional team of key stakeholders will win half the battle. It is important to bring in all the people in the team together and keep each of them updated with latest developments in the project. This will mitigate the risk of getting surprised as things at all level will be crystal clear about the project and hence anyone can become a useful resource and come to the rescue.

Strategic Communication

Don’t keep your team in dark. Your team should know ‘what their responsibilities are and what exactly is expected from them’. Such strategic communication will help them to understand the broader perspective and thus pay attention to every bit of the project.

Expand your View

Limiting your vision will surely hamper the development. So, be sure you are well aware about the business requirements when identifying your web designing needs. Make a wish list of which technologies will be a part of the project, and how you will integrate them with existing technologies. “It helps in getting the best results from the existing technological resources along with new deployments.
